Juniors

Welcome to junior hockey at Holcombe. From our home at Holcombe Park in Rochester, Kent, we run one of the largest and most vibrant junior sections in the county, welcoming boys and girls from Reception right through to Year 11, whether they’re picking up a stick for the first time or dreaming of National League hockey.

Our junior programme runs throughout the season, with sessions on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays for age groups from U6 to U16. Every session is led by qualified, DBS-checked coaches and built around the same simple idea: children learn best when they’re enjoying themselves. Alongside the fundamentals of the game, we focus on confidence, teamwork and a love of hockey that lasts a lifetime.

As players develop, there is a clear pathway all the way through the club, from their first Sunday morning session, through competitive junior fixtures, to our Talent Academy and ultimately senior hockey, where Holcombe fields teams from friendly social sides to men’s and women’s 1st XIs competing in the England Hockey National League. Many of today’s senior players began their journey right here in our junior section.

Sessions cost just £5, with no junior membership fee, and new players are always welcome to come along and try a session. Whatever your child’s age or ability, there is a place for them at Holcombe.
